Oregon Active Transportation Advocates Get Warm Reception in DC
Oregon advocates might have the easiest job of any of the state delegations here at the National Bike Summit. No matter which of the seven offices they entered during the annual bike lobby day on Capitol Hill, they were greeted with smiles and support.
A healthy natural environment sustains all life, including our human population. Effective management of what remains of our natural places requires a holistic, sustainable approach to human, environmental and economic well-being.
Standing at the intersection of this holistic approach is the Oregon Environmental Council. This non-partisan group was founded in 1968 by a coalition of smaller groups who wanted to strengthen their voice and power by working together to protect Oregon’s environment and human health.
