We work with partners, local governments, and community members to advance policies that reduce climate pollution, make homes healthier, and build a resilient future for Bend and beyond. This includes:

• Supporting clean, all-electric buildings and modern energy infrastructure

• Advocating for strong implementation of the Bend Community Climate Action Plan

Advancing equitable solutions that reduce the burden of rising energy costs

We stay involved at every step of the policy process—from early planning to public hearings. Our work includes:

• Providing expert guidance to committees, work groups, and advisory boards

• Reviewing and shaping local energy, climate, transportation, and waste policies

Meeting with elected officials to ensure community needs and environmental goals are centered

We believe community members should help shape the decisions that affect them. Our team brings people together to participate in democracy and share lived experiences that decision-makers need to hear. We:

• Mobilize residents to provide testimony, send letters, and share personal stories

• Develop accessible educational resources about local issues and policies

• Collaborate with groups to support their initiatives and bring Central Oregon or environmental voices to new tables  

We know real change happens when organizations move together. TEC collaborates with:

• Local nonprofits, housing advocates, and equity organizations

• Public agencies and regional coalitions

• Contractors, builders, and workforce partners

• Youth leaders and grassroots networks

Together, we strengthen solutions and build broad community support for climate action.
