UP North Loop Talks

Imagine walking out your front door one day in May and not coming back until early November, covering more than 2,600 miles on foot between those two days.

That’s just what Ras and Kathy Vaughn did last year when they embarked on a journey through the Pacific Northwest, stitching together portions of several long trails in order to create one massive loop hike.

Ras and Kathy – also known as Team UltraPedestrian – were the first people to ground-truth a possible cross-country connection between the Idaho Centennial Trail and the Oregon Desert Trail, a route which also includes extensive cross-country travel. With a bit of shimmying through canyons and a few twists and turns, they made it work.
