Humans burning fossil fuels are responsible for 100% of the excess heat building up in our oceans and atmosphere, but half the people you know are ideologically preconditioned to reject that fact. Too much of its supporting evidence comes from sources they don’t trust, and the sources they do trust provide them with an ample supply of alternative facts.

Fortunately, basic science has given us two “smoking guns” that provide the solid proof laying the blame squarely on fossil fuels. They are easy to understand, and no part of either proof is in any dispute. Here are your two talking points that will make you invincible in any global warming conversation.
