Project Ponderosa Tree Plantings

 Volunteers needed to plant!

What: These events are part of “Project Ponderosa”, a 9 year effort promoting student environmental awareness and ponderosa pine restoration in Sunriver and the Upper-Deschutes ecosystem.

Our Goal: To plant 2,000 bare-root Ponderosa Pine seedlings.

Penhollow Compost Site & Nursery:
Directions from Bend – take Exit 151 (after Lave Butte)  go West about 2 miles and take the first left turn, (where there is waterline construction) then through the gate, staying on the paved/ gravel winding road heading South. The Nursery site (obvious) will be where the road makes a hard left turn.

Directions from Sunriver – From the North Store & Gas station, go East on Cottonwood Rd. ½ mile. Take the first right turn (after the RR overpass) then go beyond the parking area – through the gate, staying on the paved/ gravel road heading South. The Nursery site (obvious) will be where the road makes a hard left turn.
