Perseids Meteor Shower

Join SNCO  for a special program to view Jupiter, Saturn, and the Perseids Meteor Shower. The Perseids are famous for producing up to 60 meteors per hour and a large number of bright meteors. The shower runs from July 17 to August 24, and peaks August 11-13. The waxing crescent moon will set early in the evening, leaving dark skies for what should be an excellent show, and is best viewed from a dark location after midnight. If you can’t get to the observatory, be sure to sneak away to a dark location and enjoy the show.
