Killing the Klamath Webcast
September 3, 2019
$65 – $75The Klamath Tribe has prized the Klamath River region for its abundance of C’waam and Koptu since time immemorial, but this is all changing. Alex Gonyaw, Klamath Tribes Senior Fishery Biologist, will discuss how this year’s severe drought impacts the important fish species and management of the Upper Klamath Lake. Next, Klamath Tribes’ Councilmember Clay Dumont will provide an overview of the status of Klamath Tribes’ legal and policy tools for influencing management of water and Upper Klamath Lake levels in 2021.
This presentation will also feature a showing of the new documentary “Killing the Klamath” that centers tribal voices and provides context for this very important discussion. This webcast will explore solutions to the water crisis and provide unique perspectives on how people can support the Klamath Tribe in their fight to save the Klamath Watershed.
