Join University of Oregon’s Dr. Pat O’Grady and Rimrock Artist in Residence Nancy Pobanz on a moderate, 3-4 mile hike to discover the fascinating human and cultural history of Rimrock Draw Rock Shelter and the adjacent canyon.

Archaeological excavation at Rimrock Draw has yielded important clues about human use of the area from approximately 16,000 to 6,000 years ago.
Our hike leaders bring diverse perspectives to the day. Accomplished archaeologist Pat O’Grady contributes a depth of scientific knowledge, while desert media artist Nancy Pobanz brings expertise in the use of natural materials in artistic expression.
Difficulty: Moderate – 3-4 miles, some off-trail hiking, with rough and rocky terrain and slight elevation gain.
