Fair Housing for Educators – Central Oregon
July 29 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Home life and family circumstances can have an effect upon student achievement. As a result, educators have long included in their role the need to provide a listening ear and sometimes helpful counsel to students and families.
The Fair Housing Council of Oregon is here to help educators better understand and be effective advocates for housing rights so that all families can enjoy equal access to housing.
This online Fair Housing for Educators training includes:
- basic knowledge on fair housing laws (federal, state and local)
- the history of housing discrimination
- how to provide fair housing information to families
- and how to refer families to resources to help enforce their housing rights.
This training is designed for teachers, educational administrators, school board members, educational non-profit staff, and others who interact with students and families.
