Climate Change: Response of Mountain Ecosystems

September 3, 2019

$65 – $75

Last month you heard about climate change globally – too much carbon and heat in the air – and what could be done about it. Tuesday, February 17th, our speaker will discuss the impact of climate change on life on the ground.

Climate Change: Response of Mountain Ecosystems
Constance Millar, Phd
Senior Research Ecologist, USFS

One of Dr Millar’s areas of research is on populations of pika (30 species of rabbit) which is identified as a possible early  warning system for climate change. She studies them in the eastern Sierras in the talus fields above Mono Lake  and on the mountains in Nevada.

What can studies like this teach us of climate change? Come join us and find out. The Belfry, Tuesday the 17th, Doors at 6PM, Lecture at 7PM.
