Agriculture as Humanitarian Action: Addressing Immediate Needs and the Root Causes of Hunger

September 3, 2019

$65 – $75

What comes to mind when you think of humanitarian actions? Chances are, it is not seeds and livestock. Yet, agriculture is among the most cost-effective humanitarian interventions — saving livelihoods to save lives. Unfortunately, this is not reflected in our collective response to a number of major ongoing crises.

Join for a policy discussion hosted by FAO North America in partnership with CARE, Catholic Relief Services, Mercy Corps and Save the Children on the urgent need to consider how we are responding to humanitarian crises, and to ensure that agriculture — and efforts to improve resilience and protect the livelihoods of the most vulnerable communities — is a central part of our response.
