Sutton Mountain Wilderness Monitoring Trip

The Oregon Natural Desert Association has openings for a few more volunteers to join for the Sutton Mountain Wilderness Monitoring Trip September 4-7. In 2013 ONDA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Prineville District of the BLM to help with the monitoring and restoration of Wilderness and Wilderness Study Areas. As part of this partnership, we will monitor Sutton Mountain and Pat’s Cabin, two Wilderness Study Areas that surround the Painted Hills National Monument. These WSAs are part of a proposal to designate 58,000 acres as wilderness and this trip, which will focus on monitoring and some light restoration, will further our campaign efforts.
