The Environmental Center’s Happy Hour in the Garden Series, in which volunteers enjoy beverages from local beer and kombucha sponsors while helping with garden projects, is wrapping up Tuesday, August 30th.

“It’s been a really valuable event. Over the course of the summer, many volunteers contributed over 280 hours, helping me with everything from projects like building vertical gardening structures and new pollinator flower gardens, to weekly maintenance tasks like pruning and weeding,” said Garden Manager Denise Rowcroft. “Almost every week we had people who were new to the event along with regulars. I couldn’t have done it without them.”

We could not maintain the Learning Garden without the help of our community volunteers, who put in over 280 hours this summer helping with garden projects and maintenance. A big shout out to our sponsors, who help get them there in the first place: Worthy Garden Club, Boneyard Beer, Deschutes Brewery, Growler Phil’s, Venture Fermenters, Humm Kombucha, Brew Dr. Kombucha, Caboost Kombucha, Bucha Buena and Primal Cuts.
