$65 – $75When Europeans arrived in North America more than 500 years ago, they brought with them different cultural customs which soon spread across the land, causing great loss of life and disruption of indigenous lives and cultures. Politically, the dominant European City-State model permeated the continent, and indigenous people were essentially forced to sign treaties that constructed sovereign tribal nations that in many cases bore little relationship to the traditional social structure and alliances.
