Walking the Upper Deschutes: Understanding Flows and Ecology
October 8 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join the Deschutes River Conservancy for an afternoon walking tour of the Upper Deschutes River. As flows drop for winter, we’ll walk the trail near Lava Island Falls to see how water management shapes the river, stream habitat, and the species it supports.
Learn about the history of flows in the basin, the challenges of balancing water for rivers, communities, and irrigation, and how basin partners are working to improve flows and habitat for fish, frogs, and other wildlife in the Deschutes and its tributaries.
Location: Lava Island Falls Boat Ramp, Off Forest Service Road 41, Bend, OR 97702
Date: Wednesday, October 8, 2025
Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
