Welcome Kyla, Our Green Jobs Intern!
Kyla is our newest intern through the Children’s Forest of Central Oregon Green Jobs Program. She will be supporting TEC’s marketing/outreach efforts and youth education summer camps for the summer of 2024.
Interns in the CFCO Green Jobs program get together at the beginning of the summer to prepare for their internship placements and get to know one another as a cohort. Kyla (pictured in blue overalls) selected The Environmental Center because she’s had experience with TEC programs in the past, and is interested in learning more about sustainability through marketing, outreach, communications, and youth education.
Meet Kyla
After graduating from Bend Senior High School in 2025, she hopes to pursue International Business and/or Environmental Studies. She is a passionate learner, outgoing leader, creative thinker, and loves the outdoors. In her school community she contributes as the Vice President of the business club (DECA), a 4 year leader of the Cross Cultural Club, an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate and a 4 year member of the Girls Varsity Tennis Team. Outside of school she is a brown belt in taekwondo, a Girl Scout Ambassador and works at The Dance Connection during the school year. She enjoys exploring outdoors, dancing, playing piano and making jewelry for her small business.
As an intern she is excited to not only gain valuable communication and leadership skills but also make an impact on the community through networking opportunities and her contributions to TEC.
