Good Trouble for Democracy
September 3, 2019
$65 – $75On July 17th, marking one year since the passing of US Rep. John Lewis, activists across the country will make good trouble by hosting and attending Good Trouble for Democracy candlelight vigils to demand that Congress act to protect our freedom to vote and our democracy.
The League of Women Voters of Deschutes County will host a vigil at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 17 at the Peace Corner in downtown Bend: the corner of Wall and Greenwood. Join and bring a friend or two to show support for the passage of the For The People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
In the interest of fire safety, leave your candles at home, but how about a small flashlight or a candle app on your smartphone*? Also wear red, white, and blue!
