Dr. Amy Harper, Anthropology Professor at COCC discusses “Food is What Connects Us: Immigration, Community & Activism at the Dinner Table
Much of the media coverage on global events today focuses on what divides us. Increasingly the rhetoric has become one of exclusion and protectionism. By focusing on a case study of neighborhood activists in Berlin, Germany, this talk will look at ways in which we can bridge differences by coming together to share meals. We will explore ways in which food can be used to build community while celebrating diversity.
The program is FREE and OPEN to the public but we encourage you to please RSVP to reserve your seat.
