The Upper Deschutes River Basin Study is a 3-year planning study focused on meeting water needs for rivers, irrigated agriculture and growing communities in the Deschutes Basin over the next 50 years. It is focused on strategies to reduce the approximately 230,000 acre-foot shortfall that has been identified. The Study is funded by the Bureau of Reclamation and the State of Oregon Water Resources Department, and is co-managed by a diverse group of basin stakeholders. The Basin Study Work Group invite you to attend public houses to learn more about the available strategies to restore rivers and meet community needs into the future. Study leaders will present preliminary Basin Study findings, and there will be stations set up with experts to answer questions and discuss the findings.
