Enjoy a morning bird walk around Camp Polk Meadow Preserve with the Deschutes Land Trust, East Cascades Audubon Society, and Eva Eagle.

We’ll start in the historic Hindman Springs area watching blackbirds, bluebirds and swallows while learning a bit about the illustrious history of the meadow. Then, we’ll head down into the lower meadow to watch for hummingbirds along Whychus Creek, raptors soaring high above, and woodpeckers working the pine groves.

Rating: Moderate-challenging, ~2-3 mile walk.

What to Bring: Binoculars, snacks, water, sturdy hiking shoes. Dress for the weather.
