Evan Furgurson
Home Energy Assessment Program Coordinator
Evan Furgurson was born and raised in beautiful Central Oregon. Growing up with the forest and mountains so near instilled a value for the serenity of nature at a young age. After WWOOFing in South America Evan received his Bachelors Degree in International Development and Sustainable Globalization from The University of Redlands; Johnston Center for Integrative Studies. After college Evan lived and traveled around Asia and South America for a year, where he found himself in the Annapurna mountains of Nepal. He was inspired by rich cultures, learning new languages, chasing waterfalls, and the lifestyles of people everywhere. After spending time back in Bend as a teacher, he moved to Spain where he earned his Masters degree in Ecological Economics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. There he studied all the ways we can save money and help the planet at the same time. Evan is thrilled to be part of the Home Energy Assessment program to do exactly that! He believes the solutions to so many of our global problems are here in our own community. He hopes to help build a more resilient and sustainable Central Oregon for everyone. In his free time Evan loves to ski, read fantasy, watch movies, backpack, and mountain bike with his dog Juniper.
