Becky began full time work at The Environmental Center in 2022, but previously had completed some volunteer work in Spring 2012 and an internship in Fall 2015 as an Outdoor School Instructor for TEC. She loved the programs back then! Now as the manager, she is excited to continue the great work and discover areas where current programs can expand across Central Oregon, as well as possibly start some new projects. Becky grew up in Baltimore, MD and she has a B.A. in Psychology from Ithaca College and a M.S. in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University. She has worked many positions with youth programs, starting back in 2003 by supporting with children who have developmental disabilities, and since then working for outdoor youth programs & camps, at preschools & public schools, and most recently as a conservation educator leading students on field trips to their public lands around Central Oregon. Becky lives in La Pine and sometimes commutes by bus to the TEC office. At home, she tries to care for and slowly expand her pollinator garden. She enjoys free time with her husband hiking, kayaking, camping, alpine skiing, visiting farmers markets and cooking with local produce when possible.
