Solarize Deschutes: Thank you to all who participated in our 2024 campaign!

Making installing solar easier and more affordable for Deschutes County!

The Environmental Center, Energize Bend, Envision Bend and the City of Bend are committed to working together to encourage Deschutes County residents live lighter on the planet and build a more sustainable community. Clean solar energy plays an important role in reaching those goals.

Energy Trust of Oregon and Solar Oregon are joining with these community partners to support Solarize Deschutes. This was a limited-time, community-focused effort offers educational workshops, discount pricing and local, pre-qualified contractors to make it easy and more affordable for more homeowners to install solar. We also wanted to help people learn about community solar options. As we wrap up the 2024 campaign we will be exploring options for continuing this work with the community! Stay tuned!

Join in as your neighbors go solar!

Installing solar to generate clean energy saves a lot of money on annual electricity bills, and it’s one of the best things you can do to reduce your home’s carbon footprint and help the environment. Adding smart battery storage allows your solar installation to do even more by providing essential backup power during outages.

The Environmental Center, Energize Bend, Envision Bend and the City of Bend teamed up with Energy Trust of Oregon and Solar Oregon for Solarize Deschutes to make it easy and more affordable for homeowners to go solar. While the campaign is closed there are still great options and programs to help you go solar!

If you rent and you’re a Pacific Power customer, you can participate in Solarize Deschutes too! Subscribe to a community solar project and get credits on your electric bill.

Energy Trust incentives and federal tax credits can reduce solar or solar + storage costs by about one-third. We also offer increased incentives for income-qualified homes. We can connect you with a qualified solar trade ally contractor to get your project started.

Can't install solar now? Consider community solar

Renters can get solar benefits through the Oregon Community Solar Program. The Oregon Community Solar Program gives thousands of Oregonians new opportunities to go solar without needing to own a home, have a sunny roof, or make upfront payments. Many people subscribe to a large off-site solar project and share which show up as a credit on your utility bill.
