Record-breaking Repair Café with DIYcave!

group of 20 staff and volunteers smiling

Our late August Repair Café with DIYcave was one for the books! We had a record number of attendees and items brought in.

Let’s hear it for…

  • Our 12 incredible volunteer fixers, who offer up their time and skills to make these events happen! They were hard at work the whole two hours, sharing their invaluable skills with our community. A particular shout-out to our Small Appliance team, who stayed late to help those still in line!
  • DIYcave Makerspace for donating their space. Shout-out to their lovely staff for helping us with set up, take down, and crowd management.
  • Bevel Brewing for donating a keg to the event and serving attendees. The cold beer on this hot day was so appreciated by many!
  • The over 80 community members who showed up, making the often less convenient- but much more sustainable- decision to repair instead of buying new!

What did people bring in?

Over 100 items were brought in to be repaired, including:

  • 7 bicycles
  • 15 electronics
  • 15 articles of clothing
  • 5 pieces of furniture
  • 9 pieces of jewelry
  • 5 sewing machines
  • And much more!
