Public Transit Funding Tools for Central Oregon
A robust public transit system is a cornerstone of a livable community. It helps people get to work, get to school and access a whole range of services they need every day. It also reduces traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions.
But funding a robust transit system remains a challenge here in Central Oregon. We need more tools in our funding tool box to get the robust system we need.
The legislature is considering House Bill (HB) 2745 this session to give Central Oregon communities more choices about how they can to fund transit. The Environmental Center supports HB 2745.
If you agree that transit is important to Central Oregon, you should support this bill too. And you should tell your legislators so support it ASAP.

And don’t delay—this bill needs to move out of committee in the next week or it is dead. So talk to your legislators today!
