Mule Deer and Elk in our Midst
September 3, 2019
$65 – $75Mule deer and elk are iconic species in Central Oregon. Deer are in our neighborhoods; elk are on golf courses. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean they are abundant and thriving. Our expanding human presence is putting deer and elk populations under pressure.
Biologists Sara Gregory and Amy Stuart will discuss mule deer and elk life cycles and habitat needs as well as the effect that various human activities have on them. Paul Dewey will give an update on development proposals that will impact deer and elk in our region.
Our presenters are:
Sara Gregory, Wildlife Habitat Biologist, OR Depart. Fish and Wildlife (ODF&W)
Amy Stuart, retired, former Deschutes Basin Manager, ODF&W
Paul Dewey, LandWatch Executive Director
Doors open at 5:30 to view tabletop exhibits
