Event Series Event Series: Beekeeping for Beginners Course

Beekeeping for Beginners Course

February 17, 2022

$65 – $75

Over a series of 3 evenings (7-9 PM PST on February 17th, February 22nd, and February 24th) instructors from the Central Oregon Beekeepers Association will provide information, techniques, and food for thought to get you on the road for a successful season of Beekeeping in Central Oregon. The classes will be held online, over Zoom. We will also be hosting a field day for attendees in late March.

Topics to be covered: Bee Biology, Woodenware/Set up/Location, Tools/Protection, Colony,
Inspection, Disease and Pests, Acquiring and Installing a colony, Important Timelines

Registration is $20 for non-members (which includes a one-year membership to COBKA) and is
free for members.

This seminar will be primarily aimed at the beginner beekeeper, however anyone who has interest may attend. With concerns about honey bee populations and pollinators, this class is perfect for anyone that wants to get into beekeeping as a hobby, as a serious enthusiast, or as an educated consumer who simply wants to learn more about where honey comes from. While serious beekeepers spend years learning their craft, the COBKA bee school is a great chance to learn a lot of information in a short period of time.
