Udara (Abeysekera) Bickett

Udara joins The Environmental Center with over seven years of experience designing and implementing sustainability and climate action programming working with diverse groups of non-profit organizations, government agencies, businesses, students, and educators. Before joining TEC, Udara served as the UCI Sustainability Resource Center Program Coordinator, where she enjoyed hosting campus-wide events like the Fall Sustainival and mentoring student groups like the Environmental Justice Collective. Previously, Udara was the Science Program Manager at the Climate Science Alliance where she is most proud of launching a number of inaugural events including the Southwestern Tribal Climate Change Summit and the San Diego Climate Summit. This work is rooted in Udara’s commitment to nurturing just and inclusive sustainability solutions, and she is looking forward to being part of this work in Central Oregon. Outside the office, Udara enjoys camping in the truck she recently converted into a camper, getting out of her comfort zone with all things water, and playing board games with friends.
