Megan Schubel
Youth Education Program Manager (Temp)
Megan joined The Environmental Center in November 2023 to fill in as temporary Youth Education Program Manager while Becky Yaeger is on parental leave. She comes to the TEC with a background in working as an outdoor educator and environmental scientist with the City of Portland and as a classroom teacher in the David Douglas School District in Portland. Megan is passionate about empowering kids through education and is excited to be able to continue to do this in her new role with the Youth Education team. Even though she grew up in Indiana, Megan has called Oregon home for over 20 years now. Her educational background includes a B.A. in chemistry and German from Grinnell College in Iowa and Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. In her free time, Megan loves to mountain bike, ski on all types of skis, hike, cook, spend time with her husband and daughter, and lead her daughter’s Girl Scout troop.
