Great Films, Great Cause: Telluride’s Mountainfilm on Tour Comes to Bend, February 22 & 23

WHAT:  Two nights of high quality, thought-provoking films that celebrate mountain people, culture, adventure, conservation, and the power of film to create social change.  The event showcases the very best of MountainFilm in Telluride, Colorado, an annual film festival synonymous with the world’s finest filmmaking.  Each night will feature different films!

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Environmental Center, a local non-profit organization that works to embed sustainability into daily life in Central Oregon.  We help people live, work, play and learn in ways that will ensure a healthy future for people and the planet.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the 10th anniversary of bringing MountainFilm on Tour to Central Oregon.” says Mike Riley, Executive Director of The Environmental Center. “These films help to educate, inspire, and generate conversation in our community. This year’s line-up is a great mix of adventure and conservation from around the globe.”

The event includes a raffle sponsored by Skjersaa’s Sports Shop and Surface Skis with prizes that include a pair of skis both nights, outdoor gear, and additional prize packages from local businesses.  Raffle tickets will be sold each night at the event.

Event sponsors include Nature’s Natural Foods Marketplace, Neil Kelly, Bend Research, HDR, Rebound Physical Therapy, Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe, Deschutes Brewery, Moementum, Skjersaa’s Sports Shop, Surface Skis, the Source, Premier Printing Solutions and 92/9 FM.

WHEN:  Friday, February 22nd and Saturday, February 23rd at 7pm.  Doors open at 6:00 pm. Different film each night!
WHERE:  Tower Theatre – Downtown Bend
TICKETS:  $17.50 in advance; $30 in advance for both shows; $20 at the door; $12.50 Students on Friday only with ID. Tickets are available at the Tower Theatre box office or online at www.towertheatre.org.  Get your tickets early — this event always sells out!
