Kavi Chokshi
Rethink Waste Program Manager
Kavi (pronounced kuh-vee, like a covey of quails) joined the Rethink Waste Project of The Environmental Center as the Program Coordinator in January 2023 under Udara Abeysekera-Bickett’s leadership. Kavi is honored and grateful to be able to carry on the torch as Program Manager as of July 2024. Kavi is excited to help Central Oregon be a leader in sustainable materials management.
Previously, Kavi worked for Central Oregon LandWatch, and comes with experience in entrepreneurial, marketing, political, and design work. Kavi is passionate about community building and creating a culture shift around sustainability. Kavi also serves on the City of Bend’s Environment and Climate Committee and within it on the Waste and Materials working group. Originally from India, Kavi has lived in five countries, and moved to beautiful Central Oregon in 2018 after seventeen years in Delaware. Kavi enjoys hiking, meditating, music, yoga, ecstatic dance, indoor plants, trail running, strength training, SUP, bouldering, watching good shows and movies, figure modeling, mushroom foraging, trying new things, and being present in every moment of life. He is usually found with his adorable dog, Snowy, and they’re both so grateful to live here.
