Earth Day Fair and Parade, Saturday April 20th in downtown Bend
The Environmental Center will celebrate Earth Day by hosting its annual Earth Day Fair and Parade on Saturday, April 20th. The annual community event, now in its 24th year, is a celebration of sustainable living that will include live music, local food, activities and games for children, non-profit organizations and green businesses.
The fair will be held on Kansas Avenue in front of The Environmental Center at 16 NW Kansas Avenue in downtown Bend from 11:00am to 3:00pm. This is a free event.
The 14th annual Earth Day Parade will once again kick off the fair with a festive parade where children and adults participate dressed in a costume of their favorite species or representation of the natural world. There are three parade rules: no written words, no motorized vehicles and no live pets. Costume and drumming workshops will be held in preparation for the parade. The complete workshop schedule can be found at www.envirocenter.org.
The parade will be held in downtown Bend with staging at 10:30am on Louisiana Avenue next to McMenamins. The parade will begin at 11:00am, winding through downtown Bend and ending at the Earth Day Fair on Kansas Avenue.
