Register For The 27th Annual Salmon Run
The 27th Annual Salmon Run will take place this year on Sunday, April 12. This popular race will once again help raise funds for The Environmental Center’s sustainability programs throughout the Bend community. In 2014, over $2,000 was raised to support our mission.
The Salmon Run, one of the oldest organized races in Bend, celebrates the expedition of the mighty salmon who traverse thousands of miles on their river journeys each year. The race is one of the first half marathons of the year in the Northwest region, and historically a popular event for runners looking to build a foundation for the season.
Participants may select a distance of 5K, 10K or a half marathon. All participants will start at Riverbend Park, race through the beautiful Deschutes River corridor, and cross the finish line back at Riverbend. The courses consist of a mix of dirt and paved trails, and full course descriptions and maps will be announced soon.
If you register before March 11, the 5K race costs $25, 10K costs $30 and half marathon costs $35. Prices increase by $5 respectively beginning March 12, and registration closes on April 9.The half marathon starts at 9:00am, followed by the 10K start at 9:15am and the 5K start at 9:30am. In addition to these main events, the Little Fry Run, part of the Kids Rock the Races series, will begin at noon. Entry fee is $5, or free with adult entry.
Overall male and female winners and male/female masters winners will receive awards, and ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for age group winners. Entry fees include bib number, professional timing, professional medical response, a pine sapling at the finish line and post-race food and drinks including beer and kombucha. The 2015 race shirt is sold separately at packet pick up and at the race.
Packet pick-up will occur on April 10. Please help make this a Zero Waste event by bringing your own bag to packet pick-up.
