Volunteer

We need volunteers to help us year-round with a variety of activities, from office projects to mentoring student gresean-easly-3en teams at local schools to getting your hands dirty in our Kansas Avenue Learning Garden. Many of our 35 member groups—other environmental organizations active in Central Oregon—need volunteer help as well.

Current Volunteer Needs

  • Free LED Program Expansion – Help spread the word! – We have already reached 2,400 homes in Bend and our goal is to reach another 600 homes in the next 6 months. To accomplish this, we need 600 people to sign up for LEDs. Right now, our biggest obstacle is getting the word out and getting people to sign up. If our costs get too high to market this program, we may not be able to sustain it. We could use help tabling at local businesses, hanging posters, and knocking on doors. MORE INFO HERE. Please read and email Neil to get involved!
  • Mountainfilm Festival on Tour – February 24th and 25th in Bend: We are starting to recruit up to 8 volunteers to help us sell raffle tickets during the Mountainfilm Festival on Tour. More info to come, stay tuned!
  • Garden Clean-up: We could use some assistance out in the Kansas Ave. learning garden as we put the garden to bed until next spring. Please email denise@envirocenter.org if you’re interested in some late fall garden tasks!
  • Rubbish Renewed Fashion Show – January 18th: Help out with this fun, upcoming event rooted in a love of fashion, an appreciation of art, and a passion for the planet. We need a few people to assist with our Zero Waste Stations to ensure we keep waste to a minimum during the event. Please email denise@envirocenter.org if you’re interested.
  • Repair Cafe – February 21st in Redmond: A repair cafe is a free event that connects people with broken stuff with people who like to fix stuff! This helps our community save resources and reduce landfill waste. Our next event is Feb. 21st in Redmond, and we’re looking for up to 4 people to help run the registration table and ensure attendees flow through the ticketing system smoothly. Please email Denise if you’re interested.

Thank you!
