SUMMARY:Happy Hour in the Garden
DESCRIPTION:Join us in our Kansas Avenue Learning Garden for our ongoing volunteer work party series. In 2022\, volunteers contributed over 200 hours to help keep our learning garden maintained over the growing season. We couldn’t do it without you! \nThis event is open to all ages and gardening abilities! No experience or tools required. Beer and non-alcoholic beverages are provided for all who volunteer. Each event includes seasonal ongoing tasks as well as special projects as needed throughout the growing season. Volunteers are welcome to pop in for an hour or stay the whole time. No need to RSVP or commit ahead of time. (Pro tip – put the following dates in your phone calendar now – then when it pops up you can decide if it works out for you or not!) \nIn 2023\, Happy Hour in the Garden will once again run twice a month from March through October. This schedule throughout the extent of the growing season offers meaningful volunteer experiences for all who come\, and deeper care for the garden when it needs it. \nFor Spring 2023\, our Happy Hours will be 4-6pm\, on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month. \nMarch & April Happy Hours sponsored by Wild Ride Brewing \n\nMarch 7 & 21\nApril 4 & 18\n\nMay & June Happy Hours sponsored by Worthy Environmental \n\nMay 2 & 16\nJune 6 & 20\n\nStay tuned for confirmation of dates for July through October\, as these might switch to the 2nd & 4th…) \nContact Denise\, Garden Program Manager\, if you have any questions about getting involved.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us to celebrate the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) community with an afternoon/evening of film.  The Tower Theatre and Full Access present the Sprout Film Festival\,  a series of short films to highlight creatives from the I/DD community. \nSprout Film hosts the largest and most diverse collection of films featuring people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the marketplace. Sprout Film hopes to reinforce accurate portrayals of individuals within this community\, help breakdown stereotypes and promote a greater acceptance of differences and awareness of similarities.  We believe film can inspire\, inform and spark change.\nSprout is a nonprofit organization founded in 1979 in New York.  They are dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities grow through challenging\, creative and fun experiences that enhance socialization\, self-confidence and inclusion.  For more info visit them at gosprout.org \nJoin us at the Tower for an Open House/Dry Run Experience May 2 at 6 PM.
