DESCRIPTION:Our Garden Team has kicked off Happy Hour in the Garden.  Join us every Tuesday\, 4-6pm\, through September 1st. \nHere are our new COVID-10 guidelines\, which we also have posted on our task board in the garden. \nVolunteering in the Garden COVID Guidelines:\n\nThere will be a maximum of 8 volunteers (we do not have an RSVP set up for this at this time)\nPlease BYO (bring your own) gloves & hand tools (if you have them)\nI will have other sanitized tools available for use if needed\nPlease bring a can coozie. Our donated beverages will be in cans and bottles this year\, coozie will help you to identify yours.\nPlease maintain 6′ social distancing rules\nPlease bring your face masks to wear when 6′ can’t be maintained for a project\nIf you bring kids\, they must be supervised and able to follow other garden guidelines\nGarden Team will be: sanitizing tools\, pens\, and picnic table before and after use\nWe will have hand washing station and hand sanitizer available for use. Please use them!\nDon’t come if you\, anyone in your household\, or anyone you have come in contact with has had any symptoms in the last 72 hours.\n\nEvery 4 weeks we’ll have another sponsor. DESCRIPTION:Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory each Wednesday for an immersive experience to learn all about the extraordinary world of flowers and their pollinators. The tour will begin along the shore of Lake Aspen to learn about Sunriver’s forest ecosystem and the predominant flora of the area. Followed by a tour of the botanic garden led by SNCO’s resident plant specialist\, to explore the diversity of habitats and native plants found in the high desert of Oregon. The tour will wrap up with a peek into a honey bee hive to see how bees and humans benefit from the pollinator-plant relationship. \nTour will meet in the amphitheater. His show was the first multicultural outdoors TV show in the country – it’s been on air weekly since 2003\, and has been nominated for 4 Emmy Awards.He’ll also be joined by Oregon’s very own Sharon Gary Smith\, a nationally-renowned community organizer and social justice advocate with over 4 decades of experience. Sharon also directed the McKenzie River Gathering Foundation\, a philanthropic organization that mobilizes resources for Oregon communities.Together they will discuss race & public lands through a historical lens\, weaving in examples from Oregon and elsewhere. DESCRIPTION:The Deschutes Public Library will be visiting 8 different locations throughout Central Oregon (4 in Bend\, 1 in La Pine\, 2 in Redmond\, 1 in Sisters) this summer to hand out “Grab and Go” kits with activities for youth to do.  Our friends\, Carly and Rodrigo will be giving out books and signing folks up for the summer reading program\, as well. Due to the current states of things\, they are asking folks to pick up a kit to take home to do. Everything folks needs to complete the projects will be found in the kit.
