DESCRIPTION:ATTENTION SALMON RUN RACERS: \nDue to unforeseen government mandates regarding COVID-19\, Lay It Out Events is switching gears to a virtual race. We want to encourage all athletes to maintain proper health and well-being and going virtual will allow runners an opportunity to still compete. \nTo find out what a virtual race means and how it works\, please click the link below or email race@layitoutevents.com with any questions.https: \n\nhttps://bendraces.com/salmon-run/going-virtual/ \n\nDistances include the half marathon\, 10k\, and 5k races as well as the “Little Fry” run for kids of all ages. Traversing beautiful dirt and paved trails\, the race course winds through some of the most scenic areas in Bend. Celebrate the beauty and strength of the salmon while running along the iconic Deschutes River Trail! The Salmon Run has raised close to $10\,000 for The Environmental Center over the past five years and continues to support our mission.

SUMMARY:Cancelled: Noche de Cuentos
DESCRIPTION:‘Noche de Cuentos’ was created to connect Latinos and Spanish-speakers to the traditions of oral storytelling prominent in Latin America. The program will consist of food\, a workshop to help participants build the skills to tell their own stories and explore the art of storytelling\, and will conclude with a presentation by a local Storyteller/Librarian from Redmond name Pia Alliende. The program is open to all ages\, although the workshop is geared toward school-age children\, teens\, and adults. Deschutes Public Library will provide child care and crafting happening during this section for the smallest kiddos. \nUna noche celebrando la tradición oral latinoamericana. Invitamos a toda la familia a participar. Noche de cuentos es una iniciativa formada para celebrar el poder que tiene la narración en unir a nuestras comunidades. Reúnase con nosotros para celebrar las ricas y abundantes tradiciones de narración de América Latina. DESCRIPTION:When:  Thursday Aug 11\, Tuesday Aug 16\, Tuesday Aug 23 and Tuesday Aug 30\, 5:15 to Dusk \nWhere:  Meet at the old Ray’s parking lot\, NE corner of Simpson Ave and Century Drive in Bend \nWorksite:  Varies \nThere’s only one thing better than mountain biking in Bend\, OR and that’s riding in Bend\, knowing that you helped build and maintain the trails you love. \nPlease bring a hydration pack with water and a snack. \nBe sure to bring appropriate layers to accommodate whatever the weather may be. \nQuestions?  contact@cotamtb.com \nAll COTA trail work events require the following safety measures: \nAll participants are required to have the following protective clothing and equipment: \n\nSturdy shoes or boots\nGloves\nEye protection with clear or light colored lens\nLong pants\n\nDue to COTA’s insurance requirements and the inherent dangers of trail work\, we must implement the following policy regarding children at work events: \n\nFor anyone 14 years of age or younger\, we require one parent\, guardian\, or responsible adult for supervision of every four kids attending any COTA trail work events.\nAll minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian available to sign our waiver.\n\nAnyone who arrives for a work event may be turned away if he/she cannot meet the above requirements.
