SUMMARY:Nature Journaling
DESCRIPTION:Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Katie Eberhart to explore Whychus Canyon Preserve with the pen of a writer. Walking the land can be a great way to heighten your senses and feed your writing. Walk with us to practice seeing and hearing more acutely. We’ll take the time to notice sounds\, smells\, colors and textures. We’ll stop periodically and write\, recording details and even our own memories which may later trigger or contribute to your own poems\, essays\, memoir\, or fiction. A willingness to write while seated on a log or a stone with the sky overhead is the only requirement. Writing exercises\, discussion and optional sharing are all part of this hike. \nRegistration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event. Please register online at www.deschuteslandtrust.org/events. \nRating: Easy\, ~1 mile walk. \nWhat to bring: Paper/notebook\, pens/pencils\, and\, if you wish\, a lightweight chair or pad. Dress for the weather. \n\nFor a full list of Walk+Hike Series events\, visit: www.deschuteslandtrust.org/events.  \n\n
