SUMMARY:How to Fix a Broken River

SUMMARY:Life Among the Rocks: Lava Habitats for Wildlife
DESCRIPTION:Devil’s Garden is a rugged landscape of lava interspersed with sagebrush and wildflowers\, which provides important wildlife habitat. Species like the American pika find cool refuge in lava flows at lower elevations than they are typically found and sightings have been reported around Devil’s Garden. Join OSU Cascades Natural Resources Professor Matt Shinderman on a hike to discover the importance of these desert habitats and learn about local wildlife. \nDifficulty: Moderate – about 3 miles. The trail is rocky in places\, with some scrambling over smooth lava rocks. Some hikers find the use of poles or walking sticks useful for balancing on uneven sections of the trail. \nPicnic lunch provided by: A Broken Angel \nFind more details and register here for the hike.

SUMMARY:Chipotle Fundraiser for TEC
DESCRIPTION:Join us for some great food and a fundraiser at Chipotle! \nCome in to the Bend Chipotle to show your support on July 12th. Bring in the flyer\, (posted here) show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting TEC to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to The Environmental Center. \nCan you help spread the word? We encourage you to post a flier at the office\, or bring a few to an upcoming event that you’ll be attending. You can download fliers here: https://envirocenter.org/wp-content/uploads/flyer-1.pdf \nThis would also be the perfect day to cater from Chipotle for your meeting or other event! If placing an order online\, please note you must choose the pay in-store option and inform our cashier of your participation before paying.
