Where our energy comes from and how we use it are important factors in shaping our communities in Central Oregon. The Environmental Center is exploring how we can move forward in this energy transition by developing a county-level energy plan that can benefit the environment and the economy. \nAt this event\, you’ll learn about how we currently use energy in our local community\, plus how other communities in Oregon have implemented successful energy plans. We’ll also have a conversation about how we can use our unique local resources to develop our own energy plan. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a stroll along lake\, forest\, and meadow habitats guided by a naturalist. You will search for daytime residents of Lake Aspen and learn about all the local wildlife and habitats. This family-friendly program is suited for all ages. You’ll be exploring along trails\, so make sure to bring water and dress for the weather. Pre-registration is required\, and capacity is limited. This program will take place outdoors and is for all ages. Program registration includes daytime admission.

SUMMARY:Winter Observatory Program
DESCRIPTION:Seek the stars at the nation’s largest collection of publicly accessible telescopes. This 1-hour session starts out with an educational presentation\, followed by night sky viewing through various telescopes with staff astronomers\, and a guided constellation tour. All sessions will take place regardless of weather or visibility and activities may be modified as weather warrants. \nCapacity for each session is limited. This experience is not recommended for children ages 5 and younger.
