SUMMARY:InFARMation: Creative Ways to Access Land and Capital Virtual Zoom Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The average farmer in Oregon is 60 years old. Without a plan to get new farmers onto the land\, when the older generation hangs up their tools in the next decade we stand to lose 25-50% of farmland currently in production to conglomeration or development. Join Friends of Family Farmers to talk about creative ways farmers and organizations are working collaboratively to protect farms and ranches in Oregon.

SUMMARY:Assessing Trails: LiDAR Assisted Trail Topography Evaluation (LATTE)
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will discuss a state-of-the-art LiDAR technology solution for trail management\, LATTE. This scientific approach to assessment removes the subjective variability inherent in common approaches. The methodology incorporates geospatial technologies used in other industries to produce measured baseline conditions\, as well as subsequent changes. These results can then be converted into trail maintenance and construction/reconstruction data that will guide in the management of trail resources\, prioritization of agenda and real time data on existing conditions. Data results can be processed from the office to set up a strategic management plan based on comprehensive measurements rather than subjective observations. \nJoin Matt Woodson of Okanogan Trail Construction\, Inc. and Zachary Radel of Cooper Aerial Survey Co. for the latest on this groundbreaking trail technology.

SUMMARY:A New Era for Climate Change and Food Security?
DESCRIPTION:Climate change threatens our ability to ensure global food security and eradicate poverty. At the same time\, agriculture\, including forestry\, fisheries\, and livestock production\, generates around a fifth of the world’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions—and food systems writ large are responsible for over one-third of GHG emissions worldwide. The global response to climate change today will determine how we feed future generations tomorrow. By transforming agriculture and food systems\, countries have the chance to achieve food security for all.\n\nFAO North America and the Global Food Security Program invite you to join a webinar that will bring together expert panelists to discuss changing perspectives on climate change and its impact on global food security\, highlighting outcomes of President Biden’s Leaders Summit on Climate.
