SUMMARY:Local Energy Forum: Creating an Energy Plan for Deschutes County
DESCRIPTION:Come learn about local energy in Deschutes County and how you can get involved with planning for our energy future! \nCome learn about how we can plan for our energy future in Deschutes County! Where our energy comes from and how we use it are important factors in shaping our communities in Central Oregon. The Environmental Center is exploring how we can move forward in this energy transition by developing a county-level energy plan that can benefit the environment and the economy. \nAt this event\, you’ll learn about how we currently use energy in our local community\, plus how other communities in Oregon have implemented successful energy plans. We’ll also have a conversation about how we can use our unique local resources to develop our own energy plan. Planning for our energy future will allow us to take advantage of funding opportunities\, understand and make use of our natural resources\, and get organized so we can accomplish our environmental and economic goals. Anyone who is interested in local energy use is welcome to attend! \nAgenda: \n9:00-9:25 Coffee and check-in \n9:30 – Welcome from Grace Andrews \n10:00 – Neil Baunsgard: local policy and transportation electrification  \n10:30 – Address from County Commissioner Phil Chang \n11:00 – Lindsay McClure: the Hood River Energy Plan \n11:30 – Speaker TBA \n12:00 – Catered lunch – tate and tate catering in Redmond \n1:00 – Brian Durbin: energy & affordable housing \n1:30 – Jackie Wilson: sustainability in schools \n2:00-3:15 – Time to work with small groups! What do you want to see in our community? What action steps are next? Determine roles and next steps.  \n3:30 – Farewell! \nREGISTER HERE
