SUMMARY:Climate Change in Oregon

Oregon’s farms\, forests\, oceans and water are at risk from rising temperatures and changing precipitation patterns. However\, it is not too late to solve the problem. A two-pronged approach of mitigation and adaption will be required to secure Oregon’s future in a changing climate. In this presentation\, Dello will talk about findings from a recent climate report on Oregon and the importance of connecting sound climate science with decision-making. \nKATHIE DELLO: Associate Director\, Oregon Climate Change Research Institute at OSU\nKathie Dello works in the science/policy interface and frequently consults with local\, state and federal agencies on climate and water issues. A bit of a weather nut\, she is a go-to source on all things Oregon weather and climate. Kathie maintains an active social media presence on her twitter account\, @kathiedello. Dello received her bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science and her master’s degree in geography from the University at Albany (SUNY) and soon will complete her Ph.D. in environmental sciences at OSU. \nWillie Hall\, Coats Campus Center at COCC Bend.
