POW member and fly-fishing guide Hilary Hutcheson follows a drop of water from its source high in the mountains of Montana to its final destination of the Pacific Ocean. Throughout the film\, we meet the people who live\, work and play on these rivers—people who work tirelessly to ensure that these waters\, and all they support\, are healthy. Through this dedication\, hard work and passion\, Drop illustrates how the water connects us all.

SUMMARY:“Salmon’s Agreement” Film Screening and Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Salmon have always kept their word. Year after year since time immemorial\, these anadromous fish have returned to their home tributaries to spawn and give their lives for future generations. \nFilmmaker Woodrow Hunt (Klamath/Modoc\, Cherokee) of Tule Films brings us Indigenous stories and perspectives from the Columbia River that illuminate our relationship with a fish that remains a cultural lifeblood to Native people. This documentary short is a collaboration of Tule Films\, Confluence\, NW Documentary Freshwaters Illustrated\, and the Natural Resources Defense Council. \nThe screening of “Salmon’s Agreement” will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker and Tamastslikt Cultural Institute Executive Director Bobbie Conner of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation.

DESCRIPTION:Join FAO North America for a timely panel discussion on the film Gather\, which shows an intimate portrait of the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim their food sovereignty. With your registration\, you will receive a free link and password on September 4 to watch the film anytime between September 4 – 9. \nThe discussion will feature insights from the film director and featured Indigenous figures from the film. Panelists will share their insights on the timely and critical nature of Indigenous peoples’ knowledge\, languages\, cultures\, innovation\, and leadership as Native communities build up their traditional food systems across North America. \nGather follows Nephi Craig\, a chef from the White Mountain Apache Nation (Arizona)\, opening an indigenous café as a nutritional recovery clinic; Elsie Dubray\, a young scientist from the Cheyenne River Sioux Nation (South Dakota)\, conducting landmark studies on bison; and the Ancestral Guard\, a group of environmental activists from the Yurok Nation (Northern California)\, trying to save the Klamath river.
