SUMMARY:Fair Housing for Educators - Central Oregon
DESCRIPTION:Home life and family circumstances can have an effect upon student achievement. As a result\, educators have long included in their role the need to provide a listening ear and sometimes helpful counsel to students and families. \nThe Fair Housing Council of Oregon is here to help educators better understand and be effective advocates for housing rights so that all families can enjoy equal access to housing. \nThis online Fair Housing for Educators training  includes: \n\nbasic knowledge on fair housing laws (federal\, state and local)\nthe history of housing discrimination\nhow to provide fair housing information to families\nand how to refer families to resources to help enforce their housing rights.\n\nThis training is designed for teachers\, educational administrators\, school board members\, educational non-profit staff\, and others who interact with students and families.
