SUMMARY:Climate Justice - Electrification and equity
DESCRIPTION:Join Electrify Now\, Community Energy Project\, Solar Oregon\, Passive House Northwest\, New Buildings Institute\, Zero Energy Project\, Renewable Hydrogen Alliance and The Environmental Center for a webinar devoted to exploring how to electrify equitably. \nFront line communities are most effected by climate change and the pollution from fossil fuels. They are also in danger of being left behind by some energy transformation efforts. Our panel will discuss why it is important to lead with equitable solutions that prioritize the most vulnerable people in our communities and what are the steps we can take to make electrification equitable.

SUMMARY:Vaccines: History\, Science & Ethics
DESCRIPTION:Since the development of smallpox vaccines in the eighteenth century\, vaccination against illness has been the subject of both scientific pursuit and ethical debate. Many of these questions–relating to efficacy\, risk and equitable access–have returned to the public eye in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This talk attempts to address these questions in a neutral and informative manner.

SUMMARY:Wild Webcast: Gear Up! With Next Adventure and BIPOC Camp Kits
DESCRIPTION:Earlier this year Mo Jackson spent their savings on providing free camping gear for BIPOC (Black & Indigenous People of Color) who needed it\, with a desire to connect more people to the outdoors. Local outdoor outfitter Next Adventure got wind of the initiative\, now called BIPOC Camp Kits\, and jumped at the opportunity to help. With support from the retailer and individual donations\, over 200 camping kits were assembled and shipped to BIPOC folks across the Pacific Northwest in August. But the story doesn’t end there! \nIn this webcast you’ll hear about this exciting and ongoing partnership between BIPOC Camping Kits and Next Adventure\, see behind-the-scenes footage of the kits\, and hear different perspectives about outdoor and gear accessibility\, and advocating for public lands.
