DESCRIPTION:When:  Thursday Aug 11\, Tuesday Aug 16\, Tuesday Aug 23 and Tuesday Aug 30\, 5:15 to Dusk \nWhere:  Meet at the old Ray’s parking lot\, NE corner of Simpson Ave and Century Drive in Bend \nWorksite:  Varies \nThere’s only one thing better than mountain biking in Bend\, OR and that’s riding in Bend\, knowing that you helped build and maintain the trails you love. \nPlease bring a hydration pack with water and a snack. \nBe sure to bring appropriate layers to accommodate whatever the weather may be. \nQuestions?  contact@cotamtb.com \nAll COTA trail work events require the following safety measures: \nAll participants are required to have the following protective clothing and equipment: \n\nSturdy shoes or boots\nGloves\nEye protection with clear or light colored lens\nLong pants\n\nDue to COTA’s insurance requirements and the inherent dangers of trail work\, we must implement the following policy regarding children at work events: \n\nFor anyone 14 years of age or younger\, we require one parent\, guardian\, or responsible adult for supervision of every four kids attending any COTA trail work events.\nAll minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian available to sign our waiver.\n\nAnyone who arrives for a work event may be turned away if he/she cannot meet the above requirements.

DESCRIPTION:Embrace Bend’s Do the Work Study Group is a space for White people and other majority groups to explore race\, racism\, and White Supremacy without accidentally harming non-White or non-dominant groups in the process. Embrace Bend will facilitate discussion around a specific topic by journaling\, sharing stories\, and working through outside resources like books\, articles\, videos\, etc. \nWe encourage those interested in joining the group to first check out the Embrace Bend website at www.embracebend.com\, where you will find a page specifically about the Do the Work Study Group. There you will be able to access guidelines\, goals\, expectations\, and other information. \nJuly’s meeting will have about 15-20 minutes of pre-work. You will receive the agenda upon registering.\nThe topic of July’s meeting is: Get Over Yourself and Unpack Your Privilege. \n***Masks are mandatory.
