SUMMARY:City of Redmond - Dry Canyon Clean Up
DESCRIPTION:To help celebrate Earth Day\, the City of Redmond is hosting a clean up of the City’s most used and valuable environmental asset – The Dry Canyon. The Canyon gets heavily used by recreationists of all kinds including hikers\, bikers\, dog park users\, skate boarders\, ball players and more. All the use brings litter\, so let’s work together to help clean it up! \nActivities include: Litter Cleanup. \nDirections \nFrom Highway 97\, turn west (left if coming from the south and right if coming from the north) onto Glacier Ave (note Glacier Ave turns into Highland). Take Glacier/Highland for about 1 mile and turn left onto Rimrock Way. American Legion Park is on the corner of Rimrock Way. \nMeeting Spot \nThere is a parking lot at the park. Volunteers will check in at the concession building at the park.

DESCRIPTION:After a two-year hiatus from large\, in person events\, we’re so excited to bring back the annual Earth Day celebration. At this time\, we are planning to move forward with a street fair on Kansas Ave and a short parade route in downtown Bend. This family-friendly event features live music and performances\, food trucks\, kids’ activities\, and a variety of local environmental organizations who can help you get connected to local initiatives. SUMMARY:ReStore's Furniture Flip
DESCRIPTION:This competition is designed to raise funds for Bend Area Habitat for Humanity and to raise awareness of creative reuse by demonstrating the unlimited possibilities of donated ReStore items. \nThink HGTV’s Flea Market Flip!   Over a dozen design teams will compete by redesigning 3 pieces of furniture and home accessories\, in a one month time period. The final designs will be on display for the public at Bend ReStore from 7pm – 9pm on April 23\, 2016\, in celebration of Earth Day. \nAll items will be for sale to benefit Bend Area Habitat for Humanity. \nThe chosen individuals and teams will have one month to shop\, design\, and upcycle the items they choose to go along with 3 design themes: TBA on March 23rd. (Door and bar 6:30pm) Latin dance fiesta meets funk rock fusion with Shireen Amini’s power house quartet\, Chiringa!\, while show openers Ubuntu will bring a groove-heavy afro-roots rhythm sound to help you fully give thanks to Mother Earth. \nA substantial portion of the proceeds will go directly to the Environmental Center\, so don’t miss out on this chance to give thanks and get down with your friends. \n$5-15 cover at the door\, sliding scale. All ages welcome! \n“We will be in full band format and joined by our dear friends Ubuntu for an earth-shaking night of get-down and celebration. The evening will be filled with tribal African grooves and tropical flavor. The incredible beautiful dance floor will be the canvas for your wildest moves! Just like we always like to do when we team up with other talented musicians\, you can expect some really fun surprise collaborations. The added bonus to all this?
