DESCRIPTION:Join Oregon Wild at Crows Feet Commons for a pint and an adventure story at this special Oregon Wild Wednesday event.  \nCrows Feet Commons and Oregon Wild have teamed up to educate and share tales of epic backcountry adventures as told by members of our local community. As Bendites (or Bendians)\, the love for exploring mountains\, rivers\, deserts and other wild places are rooted into the core of our soul. Bend is a special place filled with people who have been on epic wilderness expeditions all over the globe. The Wild Wednesday series is about giving local adventurers a stage to tell their story and inspire the rest of us about what’s possible on this massive\, yet small globe. \nOn January 27th\, We will present Karen Lillebo and Mike Riley who will share their story and a slideshow about a month long trip down the Noatak River in the heart of the Arctic. Hear stories of close encounters with wildlife\, frigid waters\, and unknown territories. \nWhat: Oregon Wild Wednesday: “Exploring the Noatak River – Heart of the Arctic”\, with Karen Lillebo & Mike Riley. DESCRIPTION:Large\, ocean-going salmon historically returned annually to the Deschutes River and many of its tributaries. Today salmon and steelhead are coming back to their home waters after an absence of nearly 50 years. Join retired fisheries biologist Don Ratliff for an illustrated overview of salmon and steelhead in the Deschutes River basin. Learn about their historic and present distributions\, their life histories\, and how they fit into the extremely diverse river system that is the Deschutes River. This presentation is free\, but you must get your ticket online. \n***This Nature Night is currently full\, but please put your name on the waitlist using the “Register Now” link.
