SUMMARY:Field Sketching and Nature Writing
DESCRIPTION:Join the Deschutes Land Trust\, Rebecca Brown-Thompson and Kolby Kirk for a workshop on field sketching and writing. We will spend the first day in the studio honing basic sketching techniques valuable for all forms of sketching. Training your eye to see negative spaces\, shapes\, proportion\, perspective and tones as well as flora and fauna drawing tips. You will learn to draw what you see not what you think you see. Coinciding with the sketching skills\, you will learn basics of page layout and design\, expression through the written word\, and creating a fulfilling narrative by recording while in the field. The second day will be spent at Whychus Canyon Preserve practicing and expanding on what we learned on Saturday as well as developing skills and style in documenting insights on nature. This workshop is day one of a two-day workshop and is open to adults of all skill levels. \nRegistration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event. Please register online at www.deschuteslandtrust.org/events. \nRating: Easy\, studio session\, no walking! \n What to bring: See materials list.
